This week in my Digital Journalism II class I did a follow up assignment on Taylor Young for my mid-term project. In this assignment, I recorded an interview I did with Young and matched it with accompanying images showing what it's like to work at Texas Roadhouse in Kenosha, Wis. The photos were taken from my previous assignment about Young's job.
This was the first time I had ever recorded an interview and then edited it for an audio slideshow. Similarly, I am a beginner at using the Audacity audio editing software and the SoundSlides program, both of which I used in this project.
This assignment had a much more personal approach to it because the audience can hear Young's direct commentary. Poynter's News University's "Telling Stories with Sound" module helped me understand what to record and how to capture it. Without helpful tips from Marquette University's audio guru, Jon Pray, I feel this project would have been much more difficult.
