My Blogs
Blogging has recently grown very close to my journalistic heart. Whether its recounting a guest speaker's presentation, analyzing a news source's coverage of a major event or just writing about my life just for fun – blogging allows me to tell that day's story. I have also found the use of blogs very helpful in curating and reflecting upon my journalistic practices. Look through the following blogs to read about my experiences in professional newsrooms, student media, Marquette journalism classes and my recent adventures during my time studying abroad in Paris, France.
Marquette: Inside the Classroom
This blog tracks my experiences in a few of the journalism classes at Marquette. In my Digital Journalism II class, I learned how to produce multimedia projects and analyzed news coverage from ABC News. My seminar in political journalism blog follows coverage of the presidential primaries from a variety of news sources, especially looking at my assigned beat for the class, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Study Abroad: Fox in France
From now until June I am studying abroad at l'Institut Catholique in Paris, France. I've been keeping track of my adventures through my blog Fox in France, Tweets and Instagram photos using the hashtag #tessaabroad2013. Feel free to follow my travels around Paris, across France and throughout other parts of Europe until my return to the U.S. June 17th.
