My Education.
As a third-year journalism major in the Diederich College of Communication at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis., I have had the opportunity to connect with extraordinary faculty, staff and journalism professionals to assist with my development as a journalist. Perhaps the most influential would be Professor Herbert Lowe, who I have had the pleasure of learning from in two courses, Digital Journalism II and a seminar in political journalism.
With a gentle nudge (or two) from Professor Lowe, I have gotten in the habit of blogging in and outside of the classroom setting. I encourage you to look through a few of my classes' individual blogs to see what I have learned and how I have grown.

JOUR 1550: Digital Journalism II
In this course, I focused on improving my multimedia skills, which simultaneously improved my photography, interviewing and writing talents. I crafted multiple audio slideshows during this class, two of which were published by the Milwaukee Neighborhood News Service. The course also opened my eyes to the importance of blogging and, very much so, actually resulted in this website's birth.
JOUR 4953: Seminar in Political Journalism
This course was shaped around the 2012 primary elections. Because of that, it provided me with a better understanding of political journalism, bias in the media and how contemporary candidates manage their images (or at least attempt to) through social networking sites, such as Twitter and Facebook.
