The above question and responses were part of the second installment of The Post's project, Liberty: Through the Lens. This segment of the project focused on the economy. I really enjoyed the experience of helping draw attention to the photo essay and it was really interesting to hear people's personal stories. I am most proud of my audio slideshow featuring Diane Swanson. I think it offered a unique method to answer the question, while simultaneously capturing the life of a typical middle-class American family.
