Even before I knew what I wanted to do in life, I knew that I wanted to travel. When attending college at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis. started becoming a reality, so did the opportunity of studying abroad.
The Francophile in me could not have chosen a more perfect place to go than Paris, France. I had already been to Paris and the south of France in high school, and as soon as I landed back in Chicago, I knew I would go back. That was in 2009.
And here I am now, four years later, taking a break from packing my suitcase to tell you that I am, in fact, going back. But this time instead of visiting France for two short weeks in the spring, I will be spending my entire semester there, studying at l'Institut Catholique de Paris.
Beyond Paris, I hope to travel throughout France, Europe, and hopefully parts of Africa. Some of my "must see" places are Prague, Istanbul, Budapest and anywhere in Morocco.
My other goals for the trip include becoming fluent in French, visiting the foreign exchange students I have hosted over the years and getting lost in the city, only to find myself in the process. So keep checking back as the adventures unravel, or follow my trip through photos and tweets by searching #tessaabroad2013 on Instagram and Twitter. Until my return, bon voyage!
