Later today I'll be leaving France for the first time since January. In less than 24 hours I'll be reunited with my mom and aunt. And for the first time in my entire life, I'll be in Ireland.
With my spring break just getting underway, I'm looking forward to finally having enough time to dedicate to traveling. Not only will it be nice to see my mom (and her wallet) again, it will be great to see the land of some of our ancestors together. Note: I'm much more German than I am Irish, but I embrace both of the cultures equally.
I couldn't be happier to have Ireland as my first travel destination during my time abroad. There's something about Ireland that's always seemed magical to me – maybe that's because I frequently watched The Magical Legend of the Leprechauns as a child. But in all sincerity, the folklore, the music, the Guinness and the Gaelic – it all just seems to fit together so perfectly. And I can't wait to experience that first-hand.
I'll be traveling around Ireland for a week and then heading back to Paris to meet my best friend, Haley, for her first European experience. We'll spend a few days in Paris, a few Barcelona and then return back to Paris for her trip's finale. So during the next two weeks, I'm going to be pretty busy 1) being a tourist 2) playing tour guide for Haley. So in the meantime, pop open a Guinness and pretend you're in Ireland with me. You can expect a great post about my spring break adventures when I return!
